Idaman Pembaca - Magis

Hey.. finally im back in action..
ok la.. where was i?- nowhere. here stuck in sg with mundane stuffs...Gosh not been blogging since puasa..

My blog finally working after I tried changing the template. Alhamdullilah.

I wanna share yang finally I dapat beli buku novel terbaru Ramlee Awang Murshid - MAGIS. !!!
It was so tempting for me to finish it in one night. But ish no la.. I cuba baca sedikit per day.

I finished it in 2 weeks! oh i pon da habis membaca Aku Bercerita- another awesome storyline;)

For those yang nak tahu Magis ni is about 5 watak daripada novel2 Ramlee Awang Murshid;

1. Laksmana Sunan - pendekar silat dari novel  siri Bagaikan Puteri
2. Mikhail - pembunuh professional dari novel Mikhail
3. Ryu Watanabe - samaurai dari novel Hatiku di Harajuku
4. Ejim - Raja hutan dari novel Tombiruo
5. Carlos - mempunyai split identiti dari novel Mandatori

enjoying cupcake and reading Magis ;)

Anda cuba bayangkan apa yang akan terjadi apabila kelima-lima watak ini bertemu di dalam dunia magis - dunia di hujung waktu.

Terubat juga rindu kepada Lakmana Sunan. Terbaikk. *lost for words to describe the novel*
I am glued to every single word and always can't tell what happens next. The ending part was a finishing touch. I tersenyum-senyum sendiri at the end of the story.

Ok la shall not talk too much about it. Go and get it ok!

As for me i will continue to buy more novels starting with Hatiku di Harajuku;)

Have a good weekend! ;)

Are you fasting?

Alhamdulilah sudah 10 hari kita berpuasa!

Saya berazam to be productive walaupon sedang berpuasa. Only me Muslim at my workplace. Saya nak tunjukkan bahawa puasa itu tak menyusahkan.
So i work as usual  sehingga my colleagues pon tak tahu bulan puasa da mula. Baru semalam dia tanya;

Colleague1: Are you fasting today? Only Malay fast right?
Me: Yes im fasting but not only Malay. All Muslims fasts during month of Ramadan.
Colleague1: Oh. I just realise it when i met my client.
Me: Ya. We started fasting since last week Wednesday.
Colleague1: You dont feel hungry? You look normal.
Me: So far im good. It is all in the mind.
Colleague1: But i think it is impossible that you cant eat or drink. You should at least allowed to drink water.
Me: Well we have been doing it since so long and it is Possible.
Colleague1: Interesting but im sure i cant.
Me: Anyways, Muslims fast not just for hunger and thirst but also to control our emotions, cleanse our hearts,  avoid things that is not allowed and to seek forgiveness.
Colleague1: *smiles*

So i pon senyum jugak.

Saya rasa pada zaman sekarang ni, we muslims have to try harder to show good example about our religion and pratices agar mereka lebih memahami dan tak memikir yang tak bukan2. Insya Allah ;)

Its just Haze??!!?

I remembered in 1997, school was closed because of the bad haze. Anyway, we have a lot to catch up on our lessons when school reopen.

Earlier this week when the PSI 152 which was already at unhealthy range, Singaporeans was advised to stay indoors. Luckily it was school holidays so it is much easier for parents to monitor their kids at home.

Well so i thought when PSI reaches 300 there will be more measures. Then PSI climbs to 371 yet nothing. The same advise to stay indoors and avoid outdoor activites. Singapore historic PSI reaches the highest yet of PSI 400. I cant barely see a thing. It was ghastly white and smoky and blurry and hazardous!!

The gov was working very hard to tackle the issue with the Indonesians officials while we too the Singaporeans here trying their best to go through the haze. We Singaporeans brave the haze and still go to work. Yay!!

I seriously pity those who are  asthmatic, have respiratory problems and allergies. They must have really a hard time going through this hazey hazardous period. As for me, my skin began to become red, start to have dry cough and watery eyes. Grateful that im not as sensitive to dust particles as the others.

There are volunteers who gave out free mask to the needy. Well it is a kind and thoughtful but at the same time the gov should have done that in the first place ryt? Sighss... Wells...

I was in high hopes that at least the gov will provide free masks for all but no it did not happen. I think Every Singaporean should receive 1 free N95 mask. If they lose it then they have to purchase on their own.

As the haze worsens and reaches PSI 400, Singaporeans rushed to get the N95 mask but unfortunately out of stock at most outlets.

pic from Yahoo news.
Then there was another issue where outlets increase the price of the mask. (Channel NewsAsia,2013) Sighs!!! Perhaps there are some Singaporeans who stock up more than what they need so they increase the price? lol.. or just merely to take advantage and gain profits..lol..

So do buy what you need. Spare a thought for others who do not have one yet. If you have extra give out/sell to others and don't jack up the price.

Finally on Friday, gov announced to give out N95 mask to the poorest families on starting this Sunday.(Channel NewsAsia,2013). Gov will also provide subsidies for those who are affected by the haze. (Straits Times, 2013). Thats all.

There are many varied responses from Singaporeans. Some complain and some even say that there is nothing to be complain about. What say you??

To me Singaporeans are not complaining. We are still doing the best we can. Most Singaporeans are frustrated. There is alot more that can be done.
Free mask for all pls? Hmmmmm.....

I seriously hope the haze to subside soon and end this haze drama episode. In the mean time here are my haze tips below which i did.

1. For those who do not have air-con and are trying to stay cool in this warm hazy weather

- Have a cold shower (switch off water heater)
- Have cold drinks
- Switch off lights as it give out heat
- Have your favourite facial mask and store it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes
before putting it on. It should cool you down. ( I have been doing this since
  Monday)

2. To prevent those particles entering your home;

- Have air purifier installed
- If cant afford air purifier, cover those windows which especially windows still
have gaps even when close with wet towels.
- Place wet towels in between the gap of your door too.

In this way, the dust particles will be trapped in the wet towels hence minimising these particles from freely spreading into your homes.

3. When going outdoors;

- Put on mask when gg out preferably N95 mask
- Close all windows, leave ur fan on or air purifier on before leaving ur house
- Hydrate yourself.  Preferably carry a chilled mineral water
- If you are prone to skin allergies, put on skin allergy creams
- Have a inhaler if cant stand the smell
- Have eye drops to soothe eye irritations

If you can afford, go for a short holiday to unaffected countries. But well like the others im still here in Singapore surviving the haze.

I am so not looking forward for this month electricity and water bill. LOL!!!!

Take Care Everyone!!

Hello everybodyyyyy!!!! So long me no blog!!! I have so many overdue post!! Sorrryyyy!!
Anyways my 4th year semester already started...Will be busier... i better blog about my Tioman Trip before i start to forget the details..

Lets Go!!

I left my house ard 5am. The bus will pick up at DFS Galleria at 6.30am and drive us to Tanjung Gemok Jetty. We reached Tanjong Gemok Jetty at 11am just in time for the ferry! Yayyyyyy!!!

FERRY RIDE

Glimpse of Tioman Island

Finally we reach the Tioman Jetty. I survived the ferry ride.. No seasick for me cos i pop 2 motion sickness pills beforehand. Muahahaha!!

Yayyyyyyy and here I am TIOMAN!!! I was so breathtaken when i see the clouds and the mountain. It was such a welcoming view for me.. AWESOOOMMMME!!!!

Beautiful shades of Blue (;

We then had to walk to the reception. Abt 300 metres from the jetty..

yayyy!!

PAYA BEACH RESORT

Tioman here i COME!!!

The reception was easy to find..

The reception was duper simple.
Just show your confirmation hotel vouchers and head over to our room (;

I like the resort idea.

Although our room was not ready. We just patiently waiting at the other side for about 15 mins. The staffs smiled and apologised. Lucky i was in happy mood:)

The ROOM

I quickly unpack and change to my wet attire..!! I just cant wait to swim in the blueee sea!!!
Its a very simple humble room.

The room have a simple layout. It can easily fit 4 people.  There is 1 queen bed and single double bed. The toilet is clean and simple. The water heater is working fine. There is a TV but i doubt i will be watching any cos busy at the beach. There is a electric kettle if you want to make coffee/tea or have your instant noodles.
The bed mattress is comfortable and not hard - very important factor for me! Though two of four pillows are hard! Great for pillow fight i guess!!

I did not notice any ants or bugs throughout the stay but only Mosquitoesss!!! So in the evening i already start burning the coils. I had a good sleep for the 2 nights. Awesome!! Mosquito coils saves my sleep! Hehehs!

All ready for the Beach!!

The Beach

It was a nice weather to swim

I snorkelled my way to the island on the left. Wondering what fishes i will find...!!!
It is about 50m away from the shore.

Look the mountain covered by clouds behind me! Beautiful!!

Waist deep. COOL!!

Crystal clear.

I decided to swim further deeper.

More fishes and corals!!!

The Rock Fall

We also went to Rockfall which is about 20mins walk from our room. We have to go in the forest. Some might say it is quite ulu/scary but its pretty fine for me. We went there twice. The first time we went about 4pm to check out the place. There were already a lot of people hanging out at the rock fall..

We decided to go again the next day early ard 9am.

Hardly can see this in Singapore..

After about 10 mins walk in the forest we found the waterfall!!

WARNING: It is supercold!! It takes me awhile before i can fully get in the water..  Once i get used to the cold i realised that the water is super refreshing!! Imagine the kampung days people bathe with this "Natural Shower". No wonder they have beautiful skin!

The water gushing behind my back massage my aching shoulder!

Keep calm and enjoy!

Did not realise that the photo was taken. I was immersed with the nature. Relaxing and listening to the sound of gushing water and nature. It was therapeutic for me. I stayed like that for almost 15 mins. The cold water did not bother me anymore.
I began to like it.

Mini waterfall

There is another waterfall in Tioman; Mukut waterfall. I will go there the next trip Hopefully!
We had to get a ferry service to go to Mukut waterfall. Im sure it will be as awesome.

KEEP CALM

AND

HAVE A BURGER!

Do not forget to visit this stall for yummie burger!!

I love Maggie sup too!!

The food are alright. You can upgrade and try their delicious seafood such as salted egg prawns, black pepper crab etc for dinner. I was too excited eating i forgot to snap some photos!! Rest assured they are pretty delicious!!! (SORRY NO PICs)

How did i book my trip?

I went Tioman on WED 03 April 2013 to FRI 05 Apr 2013..
Booked my trip at Discovery Tours & Travel Pte Ltd. I am very satisfied with the service. I was served by Rubiah. She was very patient answering my enquiries.

In the website you can choose either Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort or Paya Beach Resort.

Mine was Standard Chalet Full Board package at Paya Beach Resort as it was the only available room left for the period i chose. LUCKY!!? Yes of course!! Maybe next time ader rezeki i will try the deluxe room.

The package comes with daily breakfast, 1 lunch and 2 dinner.
It includes snorkelling or trekking. Take note: You need to rent the snorkelling stuffs (snorkelling mask and life jacket) there unless you already have your own like me...Hehehs!

What to pack?

Go easy on the packing list.

- Dry Attire
I brought 3 sets of TShirts and comfy pants. You can even packed lesser than me cos you can buy the cool Tioman shirts and beach dresses there.

- For snorkelling
I brought 2 sets of wet attire and my own snorkelling mask. You may want to bring a dry bag if you bring along items that you cant live without while you are snorkelling or trekking.

- Others
Sun block lotion and basic toiletries.(toothbrush, tooth paste, shampoo and shower gel). I too brought 1 box of plaster, medicated oil and mosquito repellant and mosquito coils. Don't say I didnt warn you to bring mosquito coils!

And not forgetting your camera/waterproof camera to capture your best moments, trusted waterproof camera case, charger, EXTRA battery and EXTRA memory card.

How do i go there?

The bus pick me up at DFS Galleria building opposite Far East Plaza at 6.30am. Was so excited for the trip that i did not sleep the day before. so no problem for me to wake up much early..

The bus was ok. I received a SMS a day earlier about the bus and driver details. AWESOME. I like. Very Efficient.. Haha..

Ard 11am we reached Tanjong Gemok Jetty!! The staffs there are friendly. We have to exhange our ferry vouchers to ferry tickets and pay the Marine Tax at RM 5 per pax before we board the ferry.

Hope my post will make you want to go TIOMAN!!! Its Totally worth it!!

Transfer contacts in iPhone to Samsung.

I bought Samsung Note 2..Yayyyy new phone!!!
Already charge it for 8 hours...
Backup my photos in iPhone
The trick part is my Contacts!

Do you know that you cannot simply copy your iPhone contacts to Sim Card and transfer it to your new phone. Btw iPhone dont store your contacts into your Sim Card. You can copy your contacts in Sim Card to your iPhone by Import contacts option but not the other way round...Grrrr!!!

Tricky tricky tricky...

So I found various ways and steps online BUT unfortunately it does not work for me...!! IT took me days to figure out alternatives......

I DO NOT WANT TO TRANSFER MY  200+ CONTACTS MANUALLY!!!

And i found another way! iCloud save the day! It works if you have iCloud account when u were using your iPhone.

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Cloud Method

Step 1

1. Set up a Gmail account if you do not own one.
2. Log in to iCloud
3. Select contacts
4. Select all and import contacts
5. Save the file to your computer

NEXT.

Step 2

1. Login to Gmail account.
2. Go to contacts > Select Import Contacts
3. Choose the file that was created from iCloud.
4. Select Import
5. and you should see all your contacts in iPhone into your Gmail!!!

You are half way there! Almost done!!!

Step 3

1. Switch on your newly bought Samsung Note 2
2. Go to Settings > Scroll down to Accounts > Select Samsung Account
3. Insert your Gmail account as your Samsung Account
4. Go to Contacts
5. Press the Menu button which is at the bottom left
6. Select merge with google.

AND YOU ARE Done!!!!!

- Some of other methods that u can try...

i.  http://theandroidrom.com/how-to-transfer-contact-from-iphone-to-samsung-galaxy-note-2/
ii. plug in to iTunes and sync your contacts with google
iii. you can download 3rd party applications
iv. call Apple help desk on how to sync the contacts????? etc etc etc.....

So those out there who tried the above method and the iPhone is still stubborn to work. Try the iCloud method!!

Taa Daa!!!
